Crude Oil Fall Lifts Tyre, Aviation Stocks; Asian Paints Leads


Sharemasterindia.com: Oil marketing companies, paint and tyre manufacturers and aviation stocks outperformed the broader markets on Tuesday tracking the sharp selloff in global crude oil prices.

Crude oil prices traded near 2-month lows on Tuesday morning after posting one of their biggest selloffs this year the previous day over Greece's rejection of debt bailout terms and China's stock market woes. Front-month Brent crude traded at $57.07 a barrel on Tuesday, following a more than 6 per cent fall the previous session.

Sharemasterindia.com 9:20 a.m.: The Sensex edged higher in the opening deals on the back of buying interest seen in most of the sectors. The BSE benchmark jumped 60 points to 28,269 and the Nifty advanced 17 points to 8,539.

Most of the sectors were witnessing buying interest. Banking, metal, consumer durables, auto, FMCG, pharma and capital goods indices were up 0.2-0.7 per cent each.

The broader markets were also witnessing buying interest. The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices were up 0.6 and 0.7 per cent each respectively.

Live: Sensex Showcases Smart Recovery, Rallies 460 Points From Lows

Sharemasterindia.com 3:21 p.m.: The European markets have also come off the intraday low levels. Germany's DAX was down 0.6 per cent, French CAC40 index was down 0.7 per cent and FTSE 100 was slipped 0.3 per cent.

3:12 p.m.: Hemen Kapadia of K R Choksey Securities says that one can buy HCL Tech, TCS and Infosys ahead of results.

3:08 p.m.: The Sensex has advanced 112 points at 28,204 and Nifty advanced 38 points to 8,523 levels. Analysts say that the sudden buying is coming on the back of short covering.

3:05 p.m.: Marksans Pharma, Sundaram Multi Pap, Elder Pharma, Arvind Remedies, Trident Ltd and Esaar (India) Ltd were among the top gainers from the small-cap space.

Live: Sensex Off Day's Low; Recovers on Buying in Pharma, Oil Stocks


Sharemasterindia.com 1:40 p.m.: Real estate stocks are also witnessing buyers interest. The BSE realty index was up 0.5 per cent; HDIL, Oberoi Realty, DLF, NBCC, Sobha and Godrej Properties were among the top gainers.

1:28 p.m.: Kesoram Industries shares rose as much as 8 per cent to an intraday high of Rs 88.70 on Monday, extending its gain to nearly 15 per cent in two sessions.

 1:20 p.m.: Pharma stocks are leading the recovery in the markets. CNX pharma index has advanced over 1 per cent. Dr Reddy's Labs, Cipla, Divis Labs, Lupin and Sun Pharma were also among the top gainers.

Tilaknagar Industries Hits Upper Circuit on Stake Sale Talks

 Sharemasterindia.com: Tilaknagar Industries shares surged and hit upper circuit of 20 per cent on reports that Allied Blenders and Distillers is planning to acquire controlling stake in Tilaknagar Industries.

Tilaknagar Industries is in final rounds of talks with Allied Blenders and Distillers to sell its controlling stake. Kishore Chhabria and CMD of Tilaknagar Industries are slated to meet in London today.
