Rupee Falls to 63.62 on Broad Dollar Gains


Mumbai(Sharemasterindia.com): After four days of rise, the rupee turned weak and declined by 18 paise to 63.62 against the US currency at the Interbank Foreign Exchange due to the dollar's gain against other currencies overseas.

Forex dealers said besides dollar strengthening against other currencies overseas, fresh demand for the American unit from importers and a lower opening in the domestic equity market put pressure on the rupee.

Sharemasterindia.com 9:30 a.m.: The broader markets were also reeling under selling pressure. The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices fell 1 per cent each. From the mid-cap basket of stocks, Bharat Forge, JSW Energy, Motherson Sumi Systems, Union Bank, GMR Infra, Reliance Infra and BEL were among the top losers.

9:20 a.m.: The Sensex fell 300 points to hit intraday low of 27,777 and the Nifty fell close to 8,400 levels on the back of broad-based selling in the Indian markets after Greece voted against the austerity measures proposed by its creditors raising fears that it could go out of the Eurozone.

Sensex Ends Nearly 150 Points Higher on Buying in Banking Stocks

Sharemasterindia.com 3:30 p.m.: The Sensex advanced 145 points to provisionally close at 28,091 and Nifty rose 41 points to settle at 8,486.

3:10 p.m.: The Indian markets continued to trade on a firm note in the late trades. The Sensex was up 121 points at 28,066 and the Nifty jumped 34 points to 8,478 on the back of buying financial stocks.

Bluechip stocks such as HDFC, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India and Bank of Baroda were among the top gainers on the Nifty which were supporting the benchmark index.

DB Realty Surges 5% on Commencement of Bandra Project in Mumbai


Sharemasterindia.com: D B Realty shares surged as much as 5 per cent to intraday high of Rs 68.90 on Friday after the company announced beginning of construction for residential project in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai.
 
The Mumbai based realtor in a release to Bombay Stock Exchanges said "MIG (Bandra) Realtors & Builders, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DB Realty, has undertaken development of land spread across 20,150 sq mt in the BKC."

ABB India to Raise Rs 600 Cr Through NCDs

Sharemasterindia.com: ABB India's board has given its approval to raise Rs 600 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on private placement basis.

"The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on July 02, 2015, approved the proposal to raise money to the extent of Rs 600 crore by way of issuance of unsecured listed redeemable non-convertible debentures on private placement basis to investors," the company said in a regulatory filing today.

Sharemasterindia.com 9:40 a.m.: The broader markets were seen outperforming the benchmark indices. The BSE mid-cap index advanced 0.5 per cent and the small-cap index gained 0.7 per cent.

United Breweries, Aditya Birla Nuvo, Indian Bank, Exide Industries, Nalco, Biocon, Alstom T&D, Cummins India and Bajaj Finserv were among the top mid-cap gainers.

9:30 a.m.: The Sensex jumped 107 points to 28,053 and the Nifty advanced 28 points to 8,473 on the back of broad-based buying.
